Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have wrapped up the signing of right-back Lazaro Bwambale.
The East African giants have secured the youthful talent, who left 2023/24 Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC at the end of the recently concluded campaign, after the expiry of his contract. With the latter, he established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Uganda Premier League, despite his age.
Last season at Kitara, he played 29 games across the Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cup. In the 2023/24 campaign, he played 23 games to help the club win the Uganda Cup, which marked their first major trophy in history.
Notably, Bwambale, who can also operate as a winger, joined Kitara from Regional League side Rwenzori Lions FC.
He now reunites with his former coach Brian Ssenyondo who was recently confirmed as KCCA’s Co-Coach alongside Jackson Magera. He is expected to battle for the right-back spot with the already-established Gavin Kizito Mugweri and Haruna Lukwago.
Meanwhile, KCCA have already unveiled talismanic forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe and signed a two-year contract extension with Brazilian playmaker, Joao Gabriel Estevez Cardoso.
