Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is hinting at a return to the ring in 2026, a move strongly suggested by influential Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh.
Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, posted on X that he has Fury’s “word” for a return during the 2026 Riyadh season, adding, “We have a rabbit to hunt,” a clear jab at Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated Fury twice in Riyadh in 2024.
Fury fueled the speculation himself with an Instagram post stating, “Let’s see what 2026 brings,” alongside a photo with Alalshikh.
Despite the Saudi overtures, Fury had earlier expressed a desire to fight Usyk for “revenge in England,” citing unfair decisions in their previous bouts.
He also mentioned a potential clash with Anthony Joshua as the “biggest British fight that will ever happen,” if the Usyk rematch in the UK doesn’t materialize.
As Usyk prepares to face Daniel Dubois this Saturday, July 19, for the undisputed heavyweight title, all eyes are on Fury to see if he truly steps out of retirement and where his next fight might take place.
