Chelsea have officially completed the signing of England Under-21 winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund for £48.5 million, with potential add-ons of £3.5 million.
The 20-year-old has signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Gittens, who joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020, contributed 17 goals and 14 assists in 107 appearances for the German club. This move marks his return to English football.
He joins a list of other Chelsea summer signings, including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr.
“It feels great to join such a big club as Chelsea,” said Gittens, who will be eligible to play after the Club World Cup.
Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastien Kehl, wished Gittens “all the best and much success” in his next career step.
