French club Girondins Bordeaux have officially parted ways with Ugandan midfielder Travis Mutyaba, clearing the path for his move to Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien.
In a brief statement confirming his departure, Bordeaux thanked Mutyaba and fellow player Amadou Diallo for their time at the club, stating: “Travis Mutyaba and Amadou Diallo are leaving the Girondins de Bordeaux at the end of the 2024/2025 season. We would like to thank them for their commitment and professionalism throughout their time with us. We wish them the best for the rest of their careers.”
Mutyaba leaves Bordeaux after just one season. He made 24 appearances across Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France, with an additional three outings for the reserve side, contributing one goal and an assist.
Mutyaba has now signed for CS Sfaxien in Tunisia. The move marks another shift in his rising career, which has already seen him feature for Zamalek in Egypt and earn 24 caps with the Uganda Cranes senior national team.
Mutyaba joined Bordeaux on a four-year deal at the start of the 2024/25 season but found consistent playing time hard to come by in France.
His next chapter in Tunisia could offer the opportunity for a fresh start and regular minutes with one of North Africa’s most competitive sides.
