On the morning of Wednesday, July 9, Oyirwoth’s MLS side New England Revolution faced Inter Miami in a tightly contested match that ended 2-1 in favor of Messi’s team.
While Oyirwoth didn’t feature in the game, his highlight came after the final whistle when he got the chance to shake hands with Messi.
Overwhelmed by the experience, Oyirwoth said, “I won’t wash my hand for a full month,” referring to the moment he met the man widely regarded as the greatest of all time.
New England Revolution currently sit 11th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings, while Inter Miami are fifth.
