South African side Stellenbosch have announced a plan for veteran goalkeeper Lee Langeveldt to transition into coaching.
The Betway Premiership side have extended Langeveldt’s contract for the 2025/26 season, marking his 21st year in professional football, before he moves into a backroom role.
The club say this innovative approach highlights their commitment to creating structured post-playing pathways for long-serving players.
Langeveldt, a club legend and the sole survivor from their 2018/19 promotion squad, will remain with the first team for the upcoming season before becoming a goalkeeper coach for the club’s Reserve, Youth, and Ladies teams.
