Morgan Gibbs-White has rejoined Nottingham Forest for pre-season training, even as the club initiates a legal complaint against Tottenham Hotspur over their “illegal approach” for the midfielder.
Tottenham had reportedly triggered Gibbs-White’s £60 million ($81m) release clause last week, with some reports suggesting a medical had already taken place.
However, Forest has now lodged a formal complaint with the Premier League, alleging a breach of confidentiality and an unauthorized direct approach to their player.
The legal challenge casts a significant shadow over what seemed to be an imminent transfer. It’s currently unclear if Forest’s complaint will block the deal entirely or simply delay it.
While Gibbs-White is back training with Forest, the situation remains highly fluid as both clubs await clarity from the Premier League regarding the contentious transfer dispute.
