Ugandan musician Izon T has urged young people across the country to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to their passions—whether in music, sports, or any other pursuit.
In an exclusive interview on NBS Sport, Izon T opened up about his deep love for Ugandan athletics, his football loyalties, and his hopes for the country’s sporting future.
A proud SC Villa fan at home and an unapologetic Manchester United supporter abroad, Izon T declared he wants United to win everything in the upcoming season.
But beyond club allegiances, his focus was firmly on uplifting Ugandan talent.
“Ugandan sports are growing, but we need investment, better structures, and more visibility for our football,” he said.
He highlighted CHAN as a platform that showcases raw local talent, comparing it to music in its ability to unite, inspire, and express national pride.
“It’s unity, culture, and pride. As artists, we feel the pulse of the nation through tournaments like CHAN.”
The singer also revealed that his own child is talented in football and that he’s actively looking for an academy to help nurture that potential.
He encouraged fellow parents to support children gifted in football, boxing, and other sports that build character and physical strength.
“Parents should support their children who are talented. Sports can help them gain physicality and purpose,” he said.
