Rising Ugandan golf sensation Shaka Kariisa has earned a spot to represent Balderstone Sports Institute (BSI) at the 2025 South African High School Golf Championship, set for August 3 to 5 at Middleburg Golf Club in Mpumalanga.
At just 16, Shaka continues to build an impressive resume.
His selection comes on the back of consistent top-tier performances both in Uganda and South Africa.
From winning titles at BSI Golf Academy events to starring in the Gauteng High School Golf League, the teenager has made a name for himself as one of the most promising young talents in the region.
His most recent highlight came at the 2025 Entebbe Stanbic Match Play Golf Challenge, where he stunned older, more experienced players with a 39-point round that included five birdies—earning him runner-up in the competitive men’s Group A.
Earlier this year, he was named to the junior national side for the Tunisia Challenge, further confirming his growing reputation.
Shaka then played a crucial role in Uganda’s strong showing at the Junior Golf Continental Showpiece, where the national team placed fifth.
Now, with the National SA High School Championship on the horizon, Shaka will carry both Ugandan hopes and BSI pride as he takes on the top high school players from across South Africa.
It’s another major step in a budding career that continues to gain momentum.
