Two-time African Nations Championship (CHAN) winners DR Congo have announced a 36-man provisional squad for the 2024 tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from August 2-30, 2025.
Coach Otis Ngoma Kondi aims to secure a third CHAN title for the “local Leopards.”
The squad, featuring players from Aigles du Congo, AS Maniema Union, TP Mazembe, and FC Lupopo, as well as U-23 attacker Tonny Talasi, faces a challenging Group A alongside Kenya, Morocco, Angola, and Zambia.
Their opening match is against Kenya on August 3rd in Nairobi.
Preparations have begun in Kinshasa until July 20, after which the team will head to Algeria for further training and expected friendly matches.
Coach Kondi will finalize the squad before their departure to North Africa.
Having won CHAN in 2009 and 2016, DR Congo hopes to overcome recent performance dips and reassert their dominance in the competition.
