FIFA has officially announced that the ticketing programme for the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 26 will kick off this September, with the first ticket application draw opening on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.
Fans across the globe are urged to visit FIFA.com/tickets today to register their interest and create a FIFA ID, which is essential for participating in the ticketing process.
“Following the incredible success of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, excitement is reaching new heights for the FIFA World Cup 26,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever. We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place – these will be the most coveted seats in world sport.”
The FIFA World Cup 26 will be the largest in history, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and three host nations, Canada, Mexico, and the United States. An estimated 6.5 million fans are expected to attend, making it the most attended FIFA tournament to date. The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, 11 June 2026, in Mexico City, and will climax with the final on Sunday, 19 July 2026, in New York New Jersey, which recently hosted the FIFA Club World Cup Final.
The ticketing process will be conducted in multiple phases, beginning on 10 September 2025 and continuing through to the final match day. Each phase may feature different purchasing procedures, payment options, and ticket types. FIFA has confirmed that full details on each phase will be released in the coming months. Fans registering early will receive timely updates and instructions, ensuring they don’t miss their chance to apply.
In addition to general ticket sales, hospitality packages, including tickets, are already available via FIFA.com/hospitality. These premium offerings include Follow My Team packages, ideal for fans looking to follow their nation throughout the group stage and into the knockout rounds, should their team qualify.
FIFA strongly advises fans to purchase tickets exclusively through FIFA.com/tickets, the official ticketing portal. Tickets or packages purchased through unauthorized sources may be invalid. Additionally, it’s important to note that a match ticket does not grant automatic entry into a host country. Fans are encouraged to check entry and visa requirements for the United States, Canada, and Mexico well in advance.
Visa, FIFA’s Official Payment Technology Partner, remains the preferred way to pay for both tickets and hospitality experiences.
With the countdown to FIFA World Cup 26 now truly underway, fans around the world are encouraged to start planning their journeys, secure their registrations, and prepare for an unforgettable celebration of football on the grandest stage.
