Mateo Retegui, Serie A’s top scorer last season, has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah from Atalanta in a deal reportedly worth over £56 million.
This transfer makes the 26-year-old striker the most expensive Italian player of all time.
Retegui, who scored 25 league goals for Atalanta last season, has signed a four-year contract.
He replaces Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Al-Qadsiah. Atalanta released a statement thanking Retegui for his “extraordinary contribution.”
