KCCA have confirmed that midfielder Umar Lutalo has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the club after an initial six-month stint.
Lutalo joined the Kasasiro Boys in January on a short-term deal with an option to extend, which has now been exercised following his promising performances in midfield and left wing back roles.
Though his start wasn’t ideal, he grew into the team and quickly won over the technical bench with his work rate, versatility, and attacking threat.
“I’m happy to sign this new contract with KCCA FC,” Lutalo said. “From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The coaches, my teammates, and the fans have all shown me support. This is a big club with big ambitions, and I’m eager to contribute toward our goals and bring success to Lugogo.”
KCCA’s decision to retain Lutalo signals the club’s intention to maintain a stable core as they prepare for the 2025/26 season. With his ability to break forward on the left flank and strike from range, Lutalo offers a valuable attacking option in midfield.
Before arriving at Lugogo, Lutalo played three seasons at SC Villa, helping them win the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title.
He later joined Kitara FC before making the switch to KCCA. On the international stage, he featured for the Uganda U20 side at the 2023 AFCON U20 in Egypt and recently appeared for the senior Cranes in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Somalia, Guinea, and Botswana.
With the new deal sealed, Lutalo is expected to play a key role in KCCA’s rebuild and push for silverware in the new campaign.
