Uganda’s under-12 table tennis prodigies, Joseph Sebatindira and Patience Anyango, have become African champions after stellar performances at the 2025 Africa Hopes Week and Challenge in Lagos, Nigeria.
Sebatindira won the boys’ category with an unbeaten record of 16 wins. Anyango also remained unbeaten, successfully defending her title.
Their victories earn them slots at the World Hopes Week and Challenge in Sheffield, UK, from October 13th to 19th, 2025.
Their focus now shifts to the Africa Youth Championship, starting on Sunday and running until August 3rd, 2025, in Lagos.
They will be joined by five other teammates: Parvin Nangonzi, Jemima Nakawala, Patra Nasirumbi, Ibrahim Mutesasira, and Sharif Nsereko.
Following this, Sebatindira, Anyango, Nakawala, Nsereko, and Nangonzi will compete in the Africa Youth Cup on August 4th and 5th, 2025.
The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) wished the team good luck.
