Morocco had ignited their home crowd with a dream start, with captain Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaâ Mssoudy finding the net to give the Atlas Lionesses a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime.
However, Nigeria emerged from the break with renewed determination. Esther Okoronkwo kickstarted the comeback, calmly converting a penalty after a VAR review.
Momentum firmly shifted, and Folashade Ijamilusi quickly leveled the score with a powerful left-footed strike.
The dramatic turnaround was completed in the 88th minute when Joe Echegini slotted home the winner from a clever assist by Okoronkwo, sealing a memorable victory.
