Manchester United are reportedly considering Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as potential striker signings.
The club aims to offload unwanted players to fund any new arrivals, a process that could extend until the September 1st transfer deadline.
Both players present challenges: Newcastle is also keen on Sesko, 22, who scored 13 Bundesliga goals last season.
Aston Villa insists Watkins, 29, is not for sale, and United views his suggested £60 million price tag as too high, despite his contract running until 2028.
Manager Ruben Amorim currently favors Rasmus Hojlund, who netted 10 goals in 52 games last season. Hojlund performed well in a recent pre-season win but has yet to score in two appearances.
United has already spent nearly £130 million this summer on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Diego Leon. Amorim has expressed a preference for Premier League-experienced players.
