Nigeria’s home-based men’s national team, the Super Eagles B, began their final preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) with a goalless draw against hosts Zanzibar on Monday at the Amaan Stadium.
Despite dominating possession, Coach Eric Chelle’s side couldn’t break down Zanzibar’s defense in the first of two crucial friendly matches.
The CHAN tournament kicks off this weekend, running from August 2nd to 30th across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The Super Eagles B will face Zanzibar again on Thursday before heading to their official base.
They are set to play Senegal on August 5, Sudan a week later (both at Amaan Stadium), and the Republic of Congo on August 19 in Dar es Salaam.
Nigeria aims to make a strong showing at CHAN 2024 after missing the last two editions.
