Ahead of their first-ever Uganda Premier League campaign, Buhimba Saints United have signed experienced forward Sheif Batte on a two-year deal.
Batte arrives from Rwanda’s Musanze, where he spent the second half of last season.
The striker brings with him a wealth of domestic and regional experience, having featured for some of Uganda’s most recognizable clubs.
His career includes stints at SC Villa, Express, Bright Stars, Kyetume, UPDF, Gaddafi, Maroons, and Kenya’s Sofapaka.
Buhimba secured promotion to the UPL with a tense goalless draw on the final day of the FUFA Big League season.
Batte’s arrival adds firepower and leadership to a squad bracing for top-flight competition.
The move also marks a homecoming of sorts for Batte, who is no stranger to the pressures of Ugandan football and could prove vital in helping the new boys stay afloat in their maiden top-tier season.
