Lugazi Stadium Faces Inspection Before New League Season

A team from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) carried out a key inspection of Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Tuesday, as part of the mandatory club licensing process for the upcoming 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.

FUFA officials Ali Mulumba Tomusange and Paul Kabaikaramu led the inspection, which focused on ensuring the stadium meets the required standards ahead of the new season, set to kick off on September 26, 2025.

They were accompanied by Lugazi’s top brass including club chairman Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje, vice chairman Amagur Ratib, CEO Sulait Abdul Swamadu, and team manager Kasim Ssekilime.

The team took a guided tour of the entire facility, inspecting the playing surface, team dugouts, dressing rooms, referee areas, access and exit routes, ambulance parking, VIP section, terraces, club offices, and management infrastructure.

The visit forms part of FUFA’s broader efforts to enforce club licensing standards and boost professionalism in the league.

Lugazi, who are among the clubs pushing for a solid presence in top-flight football, now await FUFA’s feedback on any improvements or approvals required ahead of the season opener.
