Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has officially committed to Red Bull for the 2026 season, putting an end to intense speculation about a potential move to Mercedes.
Speaking at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen, who is contracted until 2028, stated, “It’s time to basically stop all the rumors. And for me, it’s always been quite clear that I was staying anyway.”
Verstappen emphasized his focus on team performance and future car development as reasons for his steadfast decision.
“We were always in discussions about what we could do with the car,” he noted, indicating a strong working relationship with Red Bull.
