NBS Sport and AfroMobile to Air Entire 2025 Uganda Sevens Series

NBS Sport and AfroMobile will broadcast every leg of the 2025 Nile Special Uganda Sevens Series, cementing their place as the go-to platforms for local rugby fans.

The series kicks off August 2 with the Kabaka Coronation Rugby Sevens at Kyadondo Rugby Club and will run through to September 28, covering seven stops across the country.

The opening leg in Kampala was initially planned for Wankulukuku, but the venue shifted due to CHAN 2025 preparations.

This first round not only celebrates 32 years of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s reign but also supports the social campaign Tubeere Balamu – Men Against AIDS to Save the Girl Child, combining rugby with advocacy.

The nationwide tour will take the sport to fans in Gulu, Entebbe, Jinja, Kabale, and other parts of Kampala, giving communities a rare chance to watch elite rugby live and up-close.

“This isn’t just a tournament. It’s a national movement,” said Victor Akatwijuka, Brand Manager at NBS Sport. “We Champion Ugandan Sport by going where the action is and making sure every fan, no matter where they are, gets to be part of the story.”

As Uganda’s only 24/7 sports TV channel, NBS Sport says it’s committed to covering all levels of competition—from grassroots to elite—with full access and in-depth storytelling. AfroMobile will carry the livestreams exclusively.

This year’s series features 16 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams, including new entrants and national invitees. Defending champions Heathens (men) and Avengers (women) return under pressure from a field eager to upset the standings.

The Uganda Rugby Union has built in two rest weekends to help players cope with the high tempo of the series.

Fans can watch all matches live on NBS Sport, stream on AfroMobile, and join the online conversation with the hashtag #NBSportRugby.
