Manchester United have made a significant bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with a total package that could rise to £73.8 million.
The offer includes a guaranteed £65.2 million payment for the 22-year-old Slovenian.
While United awaits a response, they believe the bid is an appropriate valuation and that Sesko is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils face competition from Newcastle United, who have reportedly offered around £69.5 million.
The deal is seen as a key step for United, who are also willing to let Rasmus Hojlund leave to accommodate Sesko.
The club’s sources have indicated that the transfer is financially viable, citing favorable payment arrangements for recent deals and other income streams, including a loan fee for Marcus Rashford and sell-on clauses.
