Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien have officially unveiled Ugandan international Travis Mutyaba as their newest signing, confirming the completion of all administrative procedures related to his move.
The club made the announcement on Tuesday, noting that the 19-year-old playmaker has joined on a three-year contract. This comes just weeks after Mutyaba left French side Girondins Bordeaux following a single season in Ligue 2.
The deal marks a fresh chapter in what has already been a whirlwind year for Mutyaba. His move to CS Sfaxien becomes his third transfer abroad in under 12 months, following previous stints with Egyptian club Zamalek and Bordeaux in France.
“Today we have completed the necessary administrative procedures to sign Ugandan player Mutyaba for three years,” CS Sfaxien said in a statement on their official platforms.
Mutyaba arrives with continental pedigree, having helped Zamalek lift the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup before heading to France. While at Bordeaux, he featured 24 times across all competitions, including appearances in both the league and Coupe de France.
He also turned out for the Bordeaux reserves, where he scored once and assisted another.
Still only a teenager, Mutyaba already has international experience with the Uganda Cranes, tallying three goals and three assists in 28 appearances since his senior debut in 2021. He has also played at youth levels from U15 up to U23.
Known for his flair, vision and ability to unlock defences, the former SC Villa midfielder will now look to establish himself in North Africa, where CS Sfaxien remain one of the most decorated sides in the Tunisian league.
