Namugongo’s Olive School has voiced strong support for Uganda’s new Sports Act, which requires schools to participate in at least 15 sporting disciplines.
The commitment was on full display during the school’s Sports Day, where pupils showcased their skills in football, netball, athletics, swimming, volleyball, and badminton, among others.
Principal Richard Omumwa, joined by parents, reaffirmed the school’s vision of balancing academic achievement with physical development.
“If children are to succeed in life, they need to excel both in education and sports. We give our pupils the opportunity to discover themselves,” Omumwa said.
By embracing the Act’s goals, Olive School is positioning itself as a hub for both academic excellence and the nurturing of future sports talent.
