Teenage midfielder Divine Mukasa has been included in Manchester City’s travelling squad for Saturday’s Anglo-Palermitan Trophy clash with Palermo at the Renzo Barbera Stadium.
The 17-year-old, born in the UK to a Ugandan father and Lithuanian mother, is the youngest member of the 22-man group and the only player yet to feature in senior football.
His selection offers a potential first taste of senior-level action ahead of the new Premier League season.
Mukasa joined City from West Ham United in September 2023 and made an immediate impact, helping secure the FA Youth Cup in his debut season.
Last term, he was a dominant force in the U18 Premier League, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists in 20 appearances.
He also played 41 matches across all competitions, with standout performances including a hat-trick against Newcastle United and braces against Nottingham Forest, Stoke City, Leeds United, and Wolves.
His development has also seen him gain minutes in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy, while representing England at U16, U17, and U18 levels. Now, after two standout seasons at youth level, Mukasa will aim to impress Pep Guardiola in Sicily.
