The tournament, which set the tone for the new season, ended with MAAD MCAAN lifting the top prize after edging past first runners-up and former champions New Vision. The event also marked the start of a packed football calendar that will see SuperSport, Africa’s biggest sports broadcaster, deliver more than 1,000 live matches on DStv and GOtv.

Fans can expect 380 Premier League games, over 300 La Liga and Serie A fixtures, plus exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, CAF Champions League, and more. All matches will be available in HD on DStv and in SD on GOtv, with viewing tailored to each subscription package.

“Football is more than just a sport. It brings people together, sparks conversations, and creates unforgettable moments,” said Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda. “This tournament was our way of celebrating that passion with our customers and partners.”

Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing, added that this year’s lineup offers “something for every football lover” whether watching from home or streaming on the go.

The season officially kicked off with the FA Community Shield clash between Crystal Palace and Liverpool on August 10. The Premier League begins on August 15 with Liverpool hosting AFC Bournemouth, La Liga starts the same weekend with Barcelona facing Mallorca, and Serie A gets underway on August 23 as Napoli meet Sassuolo.

MultiChoice customers can follow the action via DStv Stream and GOtv Stream, while the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps allow easy subscription management, upgrades, reconnections, and access to match schedules and highlights.
