Roma have submitted a bid to Manchester United for England winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently training separately from the first-team squad.
The 25-year-old has been instructed to find a new club before the transfer window closes on September 1.
While the exact size of Roma’s offer has not been disclosed, sources confirm that the Italian club’s interest highlights a potential path for Sancho to leave Old Trafford.
Juventus, who have qualified for the Champions League, are also reportedly interested in the player.
Sancho returned to Manchester United this summer after a loan spell at Chelsea last season. There have been suggestions that Roma may also be open to a loan deal with clauses, but this is complicated by Sancho’s contract situation, which is set to expire next summer, though United hold an option for a one-year extension.
Manchester United are determined to sell Sancho and believe he, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrrell Malacia, will have departed the club by the end of the transfer window.
The club may consider a loan deal as the deadline approaches to alleviate a portion of the player’s significant salary.
