Brentford have reportedly agreed to a club-record deal worth up to £42.5m for Bournemouth forward Dango Ouattara, according to a BBC Sport.
The 23-year-old Burkina Faso international, who scored nine goals in 37 appearances for the Cherries last season, is expected to travel to London on Friday to undergo a medical.
Sources close to the player indicated that he wanted a more prominent role than he had at Vitality Stadium.
This transfer comes as Nottingham Forest, who had previously shown interest in Ouattara, have agreed to a £37.5m deal for Ipswich winger Omari Hutchinson.
Brentford had a £35m bid for Hutchinson rejected last month.
The arrival of Ouattara raises questions about the future of Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.
Brentford boss Keith Andrews stated that Wissa would not be playing in the team’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest due to doubts about his future. Newcastle United has had a £25m offer, with an additional £5m in add-ons, for the 28-year-old rejected.
