Uganda’s 3×3 women’s team return to action on Wednesday when they take part in the Bordeaux Stop of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, scheduled for August 20-21.
The event is the 12th stop on this season’s tour and features some of the world’s best sides, with Uganda placed in Pool A alongside Canada and Austria.
It is a tough draw, with Canada arriving as the top-ranked team after an impressive title run in Edmonton, while Austria have already made two quarterfinal appearances this year.
Uganda, however, have shown steady growth in international 3×3 and will be keen to make their mark against higher-ranked opposition.
The field includes heavyweights such as Spain, France, Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar Amazons, and Romania’s CS Rapid Bucharest.
Olympic medalists and world-class talents like Canada’s Katherine Plouffe and Spain’s Juana Camilion headline the line-ups, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive stop.
While Uganda enters as an underdog, the Bordeaux stop presents a valuable test of character and resilience.
