The Uganda Cricket Association has announced the 14-player Victoria Pearls squad that will represent the country at the 2025 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Windhoek, Namibia, from August 31 to September 6.
The squad will enter a residential training camp in Kampala on August 26 before flying out to Namibia on August 29.
Uganda, ranked 17th in the world, has been drawn in Group B alongside Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
The top two teams from the tournament will advance to the Global Qualifier, the final step toward the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales.
The Victoria Pearls squad includes: Proscovia Alako, Immaculate Nakisuuyi, Consy Aweko Nimungu, Naume Jane Amongin, Stephanie Nampiina, Kevin Amuge, Esther Iloku, Sarah Akiteng, Ritah Musamali, Malisa Ariokot, Kevin Awino, Phiona Egaru Kulume, Janet Mbabazi (Captain), and Irene Mutonyi.
Uganda’s Group B fixtures in Windhoek are:
- 31 August: Tanzania vs Uganda
- 1 September: Rwanda vs Uganda
- 3 September: Kenya vs Uganda
Uganda last qualified for the Global Qualifier in 2023 and will be aiming to return stronger under the guidance of coaches Deus Muhumuza and Brian Masaba.
