BUL have reinforced their backline with the signing of Cameroonian centre-back, who can also play as a right-back, Kelvin Tah Barni, who has penned a two-year contract after parting ways with NEC Football Club.
At 26, Barni is no stranger to the Uganda Premier League, having previously featured for Nyamityobola, Kyetume, and NEC.
His wealth of experience across different setups is expected to inject solidity and leadership into the Eastern Giants’ rearguard as they prepare for the demanding campaign ahead.
“I am excited to join this big team, I am here to work hard and also help this great team achieve its targets. I want to win trophies with BUL FC, including the Uganda Premier League, and I am confident that with the squad available here, we shall make it.”
Head coach Abbey Kikomeko believes Barni ticks all the right boxes to replace last season’s defensive departure.
“After losing one of my defenders at the end of last season, I looked around for who to replace him, and Barni was the perfect match. His experience, aggressiveness, strength, and character are much needed in our defence. We warmly welcome him at the club.”
With Barni’s arrival, BUL signal their determination to push for silverware this season, and the Cameroonian’s presence could be the missing piece in their pursuit of glory.
