Football legend Wayne Rooney has criticized half-time interviews and the practice of playing league games overseas on his new BBC podcast, “The Wayne Rooney Show.”
Rooney stated that his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, would never have allowed his players to be interviewed during the half-time break, calling it a “crazy” distraction.
He personally refused similar requests while playing for D.C. United.
Rooney also condemned a plan for a La Liga match to be played in Miami, arguing that taking a game away from loyal fans purely for money is “wrong” and “should never happen.”
He said it’s unfair to supporters who travel for games and would have to pay to see a match abroad.
