Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton has broken his silence on his difficult 2025 season with Ferrari.
The seven-time world champion’s move to the Italian team has been a struggle, with him sitting in sixth place in the standings, 42 points behind his teammate, Charles Leclerc.
After a disappointing performance in Hungary where he called himself “useless,” Hamilton took to Instagram to reflect on the F1 summer break. “We have to keep going, even when it’s difficult,” he wrote, pledging to return to the track with a renewed focus.
Former F1 driver Riccardo Patrese defended Hamilton, suggesting the Ferrari car may not suit the Briton’s driving style and that adapting to the “Italian philosophy” has been a challenge after so many years with an English team. Patrese believes Hamilton’s experience could be very useful for Ferrari in the long run.
The Dutch Grand Prix, the 15th race of the season, takes place this weekend.
