Kylian Mbappe scored twice to lead Real Madrid to a 3-0 victory over Real Oviedo, maintaining the team’s flawless record to start the La Liga season.
The French forward, who also scored in the season opener against Osasuna, netted his first goal eight minutes before halftime with a well-placed finish. He sealed the win in the 83rd minute with a side-footed strike.
Madrid’s new signing, Trent Alexander-Arnold, started on the bench but came on for the final three minutes. The final goal was added by Vinicius Jr. in stoppage time with a clinical finish.
Xabi Alonso’s side was also bolstered by an impressive performance from 18-year-old Franco Mastantuono, who had a lively display in attack.
The home side’s best chance came in the 81st minute when Kwasi Sibo’s long-range shot hit the outside of the post.
