Alexander Isak has been named to the Sweden squad for World Cup qualifiers, despite a transfer standoff with Newcastle.
The striker is pushing for a move to Liverpool, who had a £110m bid for him rejected.
Isak, who has not played this season, is training separately from his Newcastle teammates. The club insists he is not for sale, while Isak claims they broke a promise to let him leave.
Sweden coach Jon Dahl Tomasson is happy to have Isak, saying he’s a “huge player” who can “decide matches.”
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes also commented on the situation, stating that the team misses their “best player.”
