Centenary Bank has partnered with the Uganda Bikers Association to boost the Yonja Campaign, a city-cleaning drive that promotes sustainable urban living.
The bank announced its support at a press briefing held today at Mapeera House headquarters, where it handed over a cheque worth Shs15 million to the bikers group.
The contribution will support the upcoming cleaning exercise in Hoima City, the sixth urban center to benefit from the initiative since its launch.
Fabian Kasi, the bank’s managing director, said the campaign reflects Centenary Bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
“Banking is not just about financial services, but it’s also about caring for the environment. For businesses to thrive, they must operate in a protected and sustainable environment,” he said.
Started three years ago, the Yonja Campaign has mobilized urban communities to embrace proper waste management and take part in regular cleaning drives.
