KCCA have added steel to their rearguard with the capture of seasoned defender Enock Walusimbi, who joins the Kampala giants on a two-year contract.
The former URA skipper becomes the club’s fourth marquee signing of a busy transfer window as the thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions prepare for a title push.
Walusimbi, widely regarded for his leadership, aerial presence, and tactical awareness, returns to the Ugandan topflight after a spell in Scotland and a title-winning stint with Express FC in 2020, where he famously captained the Red Eagles to glory.
His versatility, capable of marshalling the defence either centrally or out wide, gives KCCA FC a valuable tactical edge ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking about the high-profile acquisition, Co-Head Coach Jackson Magera could barely hide his excitement.
“Enock is a player we have been monitoring for a while. His leadership qualities and experience in the league are exactly what we need to strengthen our backline. We are confident he will be a key player for us.”
Walusimbi himself spoke with conviction about the fresh challenge:
“I am happy to join KCCA FC, a club with a rich history and ambitious goals. This is a new chapter for me, and I am ready to give my all for the badge. My goal is to help the team win trophies, and I believe we have the talent and determination to achieve great things.”
The 26-year-old’s arrival continues a major squad rebuild at Lugogo, with striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe, left-back Herbert Achayi, and midfielder Lazaro Muhindo already in the mix. KCCA FC’s aggressive approach in the market signals a clear intent to reclaim domestic dominance and reassert their status as Uganda’s most decorated club.
