CMA Launches Annual Muslim Run to Support Shukran Babies’ Home

The Corporate Muslims Association (CMA) has announced that this year’s Annual Muslim Run will take place on September 21 at the Cricket Oval, Lugogo, with proceeds dedicated to supporting the Shukran Babies’ Home project in Luwero district.

The Shukran Babies’ Home, set to be established in Wobulenzi town council, will provide home-based care, rehabilitation, and education to abandoned and orphaned children aged 0 to 3. CMA says the project is designed to respond to the growing number of children left on the streets, with Kampala Capital City Authority reporting that more than 200 children in this age group are abandoned annually in the city.

With an estimated 10-year cost of 1.5 billion shillings, the home will provide food, clothing, medical care, and skills training to ensure the children have a chance at a better future. CMA described the initiative as part of its wider effort to address socio-economic challenges in vulnerable communities.

The Annual Muslim Run, CMA’s flagship fundraising event, is expected to attract participants from its membership base of more than 80,000. Kits for the run cost 30,000 shillings and are available at Salama Bank branches, Wandegeya Mosque, Kibuli Mosque, Gaddafi Mosque, and Kibuli.

Sponsors for this year’s edition include KFC, Pepsi, Salama Bank, Faras, Ad Concept, Reign Ads, Rosewell Hospital, Capital Radio, Metro Cement, Mocca Apetter, CBS, Pincket, Pearl FM, and GTV.

The event will start at 6:30 am on September 21.
