The hosts’ batting collapsed dramatically, losing seven wickets for just 49 runs, with Keshav Maharaj and Wiaan Mulder leading the charge with the ball.

Only Jamie Smith offered resistance, scoring 54.
In reply, South Africa’s Aiden Markram smashed a record-breaking fifty from just 23 balls, guiding his team to a dominant victory.

The performance leaves England with much to consider ahead of the second match.
