Uganda’s U16 national basketball team, the Junior Silverbacks, kick off their 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket campaign today, facing Cameroon in Group B at 5 PM at the Petit Stade Gymnasium in Kigali.
From September 2 to 14, twelve teams from across Africa will compete for the U16 AfroBasket title and a spot at the 2026 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey.
Uganda is grouped with Guinea, Tunisia, and Cameroon, setting up a competitive start to their tournament.
The Junior Silverbacks will aim to build momentum from the opening match, knowing every game counts in the race to reach the knockout stages.
With Guinea and Tunisia as strong opponents, Uganda will need focus and energy to make a mark in Kigali.
