Ferrari will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s first Formula 1 world championship by fielding a special one-off livery for its SF-25 cars at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
The cars, driven by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, will pay homage to Lauda’s iconic 1975 312T race car.
The tribute livery features a specific shade of red matching the 1975 car and includes the classic white longitudinal stripes.
In a nod to the past, the drivers’ names will be in italics and the car numbers will be black on a white rectangular background.
The rear wing will be metallic silver, echoing the aluminum used before carbon fiber became standard, and the engine cover will be white, just as it was on Lauda’s championship-winning car.
The homage extends to the team’s attire. Leclerc and Hamilton will wear special suits, shoes, and helmets that recall the style and colors of the era.
The mechanics will also be in a special kit inspired by the 1975 season, featuring the classic rectangular Ferrari logo instead of the shield.
The team hopes this tribute and the passionate support of the “Tifosi” at their home race will inspire a strong performance.
