Lewis Hamilton says he has “more to fight for” after receiving a five-place grid penalty for the Italian Grand Prix.
The penalty was given for failing to slow down sufficiently for yellow flags at the recent Dutch Grand Prix.
This will be Hamilton’s first race at Monza as a Ferrari driver. He has had a difficult start with the team, currently sitting sixth in the drivers’ championship with 109 points and yet to secure a podium finish in a main race.
Despite the challenges, Hamilton believes he and the team are making progress and will be “stronger having gone through these six months.”
