West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is considering legal action against the Football Association (FA) after an independent commission cleared him of spot-fixing charges.
The decision not only exonerated Paqueta but also heavily criticized the FA’s investigation for relying on circumstantial evidence and failing to use independent betting data experts.
The charges, which began in May 2024, caused the collapse of Paqueta’s £80 million move to Manchester City.
The commission’s findings, published this week, noted that Paqueta and West Ham “reserve all of their rights” for compensation for the lost transfer.
The FA will not appeal the decision.
