Williams have officially requested a review of the 10-second penalty given to Carlos Sainz at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Sainz, who believes the penalty was a “complete joke,” received the sanction after a collision with Liam Lawson during the race.
The driver stated that a post-race conversation with the stewards suggested they may have realized the decision was not the best one.
Sainz is using the incident to push for a permanent panel of stewards in Formula 1 to ensure greater consistency in rulings, arguing that a chaotic race day led to a rushed and poor judgment.
