Nottingham Forest has sacked head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, despite his success in leading the club to European qualification.
The decision, announced early Tuesday, follows a reported deterioration in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
The club is now expected to appoint former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou, who was recently let go by Spurs despite a Europa League win, is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League.
He also has a prior relationship with Marinakis, who has praised the Australian manager’s work in the past.
Nuno’s departure marks a swift end to his tenure, making way for a new chapter under Postecoglou.
