Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup champions Vipers Sports Club have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of winger Usama Arafat Kiza on a three-year deal.
The 21-year-old arrives from KCCA after running down his contract, becoming the Venoms’ seventh signing of the transfer window.
The club confirmed his arrival through an elaborate unveiling video shared on their social media platforms on Monday morning.
Usama’s switch adds to a growing list of new arrivals at Kitende that includes Robin Kane Hney, Odili Chukwuma, Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Taddeo Lwanga, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala.
Usama brings proven numbers and top-level experience. At KCCA, he produced seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances last season, following a previous campaign where he hit 10 goals and six assists across competitions.
His influence has also stretched to the international stage. He captained Uganda’s U-20 side to silver at the 2024 All-Africa Games in Accra, broke into the Uganda Cranes setup with 11 caps, and featured in the CHAN 2025 quarterfinal run.
At Kitende, the left-footed winger will compete for a place in an attack that already includes captain Milton Karisa, Hney, and Chukwuma. Vipers hope his creativity and work rate will sharpen their push for continued domestic dominance and continental impact.
Usama described his transfer as a step into a “big football family with ambition and a winning mentality,” stressing that he is eager to contribute to the club’s legacy and growth.
He has been handed his preferred number 27 shirt and will link up with the squad after Friday’s CAF Champions League clash against Namibia’s African Stars.
The unveiling follows a farewell message Usama penned to KCCA, where he thanked the club’s management, coaches, teammates, and fans for shaping his career during his three-year stay at Lugogo.
