Kenyan great Faith Kipyegon secured her place in athletics history today, winning her fourth world 1500m title at the World Athletics Championships.
The victory extends her streak of dominance to a fifth consecutive global gold in the event.
Kipyegon controlled the race and finished in a time of 3:52.15.
The win makes her only the second athlete to ever amass four 1500m world titles, matching the record of Hicham El Guerrouj.
Dorcus Ewoi of Kenya took silver, and Australia’s Jessica Hull claimed the bronze.
