Uganda will stage the 15th edition of the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games from December 5 to 17, 2025, after Burundi stepped aside as the original host.
Speaker of Parliament Anita Among confirmed the change alongside Kenya’s National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and East African Legislative Assembly Speaker Joseph Ntakirutimana, announcing Kampala as the new venue for the regional sporting showcase.
More than 2,000 participants from the eight EAC member states are expected to compete in a range of disciplines, using sport to promote regional unity and cooperation.
Uganda, the defending overall champion, will look to keep the trophy on home soil, a prospect certain to stir local pride and draw big crowds.
With the countdown now on, Uganda is preparing to welcome legislators and athletes from across the region for one of the EAC’s biggest parliamentary sporting events.
