Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a return to Benfica to replace recently-sacked manager Bruno Lage.
Lage was dismissed following a Champions League defeat, and the club’s president, Rui Costa, has stated they are looking for a new coach with the “profile of a winner.”
Mourinho, who was recently let go by Fenerbahce, began his managerial career at Benfica in 2000 before achieving major success with their rivals, Porto.
The potential move comes as Benfica prepares for a presidential election, though Costa insists the coaching change is for sporting reasons.
