Manchester United’s debt has climbed to almost £1.1 billion, following an additional £105 million in borrowing to fund summer player transfers.
The club’s accounts show the total debt includes £447 million in outstanding transfer fees.
Despite this, cost-cutting measures led by minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe have helped reduce the club’s losses from £113.2 million to £33 million.
On the field, the team has had a poor start to the season, with only one win so far.
